Review: NYX 10 Color Eyeshadow Palette

NYX Cosmetics is well-known for their very affordable price and quality. When Non-PareilBoutique has 20% off storewide, I craved in and ordered the NYX new eyeshadow palette. There are two new collections for the NYX 10 Color Eyeshadow Palette: The Runway Collection and For your eyes only. Mine is the NYX The Runway Collection in Jazz Night.

Here's the ingredients list:The eyeshadow palette comes with a big mirror and a small eyeshadow sponge. The mirror is huge for you to see your whole face not just your eyes. I found that the sponge is a dump as it is very rough. Here are the swatches:
My Say:
I'm very disappointed with this pallet. The color in the palette look very pigmented but not on my hand. The color consistency is quite different for each color. I found out that only 5 colors in the palette are quite pigmented and soft especially the blue. While the other colors was too blah and the texture is too rough. I personally tried the silver color (top) for smoky eyes, but the texture was too rough and the color fly-off everywhere on my lids which is too messy. Eww~~

The colors turn out great but it crease easily even with eyelid primer. It only lasted me about 3hours before it start to crease.

Overall:
I'm very disappointed. The palette is great when traveling if you can only take a small amount of makeup with you. But I'm definitely would not repurchase this palette. The single eyeshadow and trio palette works far better than this.

I heard NYX 10 Color for Smokey Eyes is far better than this. Shall give it a try soon. How's your experience with NYX eyeshadow?

Coffret D'or Spring 2010 Reviews & Swatches

I was first attracted by the poster above. The makeup that used in the model creates an innocent and feminine mood which I really like. This year spring series has released their new Coffret D'or Jewelcious Eyes, Innocent Color Blush, and Aqua Rouge Lipstick. Last month Kanebo having their roadshow for this collection. Remember my post on Coffret D'or Spring Collection. I couldn't resist on how pretty it was.

The casing of the new Coffret D'or Jewelcious Eyes are pretty much different from the previous collection. Although I would prefer the previous casing but this look elegant too. The Jewelcious Eyes come with 5 colors- Green, Pink, Blue, Beige and Purple. Among these 5 palettes, I bought Jewelcious Eyes 04 - Amber Beige. I found this the prettiest. ^^Inside the palette, there is a mirror and an eyeshadow brush and a sponge which is incredibly soft. I never use it though.

My camera did not capture the color nicely. The eyeshadow look much more vibrant and shimmery in real life. The texture of the eyeshadow is so much better than the previous collection. It is so smooth, and silkiest among all the eyeshadow I have. I think most Japanese makeup comes with slight shimmer and shine. But this palette shimmer was quite sheer compared with the 3D Lighting Collection.

I'm not fond in applying lipstick cause I found it is too dry for my chapped lips. But the new Coffret D'or Aqua Rouge Lipstick breaks my own record.
The Aqua Rouge comes in 9 different colors. Mine is in PK-248. The shiny casing look so elegant to me. Here's the swatch on my hand:
This Aqua Rouge lippie seriously impressed me! The SA told me this lippie contains with two types of amino acid which helps provide moisture to your lips. The texture wise, it glide on smooth touch for my lips with a silky feeling. My lips are quite dry and chapped. Especially when I'm stress. But this lipstick does help maintain my moisture. I don't even need to apply lipbalm prior when applying lipstick.

Review: BeautyMaker Aqua Color Controller in Mauve

I'm not a person who used makeup often. But if I do, I'll wear it for long hours. It's kinda "HATE" if your makeup does not stay on you for long and start creasing. Here comes the rescue of makeup base or face primer.

Let's see how the raves on this BeautyMaker Aqua Color Controller works for me. Kevin Beautymaker Aqua Color Controller comes with 3 colors which is Nude, Green and Mauve. I got mine in Mauve. The packaging is quite simple and soft- as in it feels quite elastic and rubbery feeling.The Beautymaker Aqua Color Controller in Mauve said to buffer between your skin and foundation, and also help makeup to look fresh and stay longer for hours. Looking at the ingredients list it is definitely good for skin.The texture of this primer is fluid and spreads very easily. It feels very light on the skin. You don't have to worry about feeling sticky. It absorb very quickly into your skin.The mauve color is supposed to correct the yellow undertones and redness, leaving skin brighter and more even. See how it actually correct my yellow undertones?Here's the comparison on my hand. I spread some of the primer on the right side. It definitely look brighter and even out my yellowish skin tone. (I spread excessively spread an amount on it, therefore it might look a bit weird)If you noticed, this Beautymaker Aqua Color Controller in Mauve does not come with any shimmer effect but it gives a nice glow to your skin. The best part is this primer has a very good oil-control properties. If you have an oily skin, you may try this.

Kevin Beautymaker has now released a new skincare series called Vin Vin Hydrating Series. My heart is aching for that now.

Review: MAC Blush Ombre in Ripe Peach

When MAC had launched their Spring Forecast Collection, I was eager to get a look of it. Before it official launch in Malaysia, the collection become a hype in United States and other places. Some items are even sold out the day it launched.

Take a look at their famous MAC Blush Ombre in Ripe Peach. It is sold out everywhere including their website. I couldn't resists myself instead grabbing two of these.

The outlook of it is like the classic MAC. But this blusher is so huge!! The normal MAC blusher is about 6g but this Blush Ombre is 9g!!

The gradient in the blusher brings out different colors. You can get 4 different color from this blusher and the color is so vibrant and pigmented.

After looking at swatches, now I understand why this is sold out everywhere, Isn't it pretty? This blusher is also suitable for every skin color even my bestie who's NC35 like it so much.
