[Review & Swatches] L'Oreal Paris Tint Caresse in Peach Blossom

Say Hello to the first EVER powder lipstick in the world! *waves*  Or, the First Gradation Cushion Tint!!  :) Yes, I was quite intrigued with this product as I had never tried any form of lipstick/lip tint in powder or cushion! Good job for L’Oréal Paris for the latest innovation - Tint Caresse. In certain countries they called as Loreal Blossom Caresse Cushion Tint.  This product is meant to create the lips gradient look - a very popular lips trend in Asia.

Today I am going to share with you L'Oreal Paris Tint Caresse in B03 Peach Blossom. I am very excited to try this out! Well, who doesn't want to know how this gradation cushion lip tint
like? :)

They say:

The first ever lip gradation pen, infused with tints from the most refined blend of precious flowers. Its expert applicator with soft cushion tip gently blends in color for the most natural ombre effect lips instantly bloom with a velvety matte finish. Comes with 8 different color ranging from Coral, Pink to Red.

Packaging:

At the first glance, I am really attracted to its classy metallic packaging with slight gradation of the color of the tint. The packaging looks pretty much like a pen where you need to screw open the cap to use it.

The actual product - the lip powder was packed inside the cap. The cushion tip fits inside the cap and picks up the powder. So if you need more color just tap the cushion applicator to the screw cap.

The sponge/ cushion applicator is quite soft and pointed. The shape of the applicator was made for easier lip gradation application where you have more products on the inner part of the lip and then it fades out.  This Tint Caresse is pretty light-weighted and contains 0.9g of product. So it's pretty good to place it into your makeup bag.

Swatches/Texture:

The color I received was B03 Peach Blossom that has a matte finish. The lip powder turns into cream when swatches. Look at the swatch on my hand, it was highly pigmented and smooth to apply.

I really like the color of the Peach Blossom. It has a light coralish pink that looks very pretty on my olive skintone. It gives you a very thin layer of pinky-peach color on your lips. You could layer it up if you want more the color to be more pigmented on your lips.

The texture of the lip tint is pretty light and it makes me feel like I wasn't wearing anything on my lips! On application wise, I am quite skeptical as cushion/sponge applicator isn't the best to apply or blend especially on my dry lips. Surprisingly, the color applies and blends on my lips smoothly without highlighting my dry lines.

Ombre/ Gradient Lips Tutorial:

Because this tint was meant for lips gradient look, I decided to show you a small pictorial on how to create a gradient lip look with this.

Steps:

  1. Always moisturize or hydrate your lips with a lipbalm!
  2. Lightly dap some concealer/ foundation using your finger on lips to neutralise your lip color. You don't need a lot just a bit will do.
  3. Use the pointy side of the Tint Caresse and apply it on the inner side of your lips.
  4. Then smudge the lip color from inner to outer part of your lips using the side of the cushion applicator. Try to keep the gradient by not over-blending.
  5. Voila! You get your gradient lips now. If you need more shine, you can apply a clear lipgloss on top of it.

My Say:

Most matte formula lipstick tends to be pretty dry and hard to blend. (Yes, I encountered a few brands that I really hate them). Fortunately, this Tint Caresse doesn't! I wore them for a few hours; it doesn't dry out my lips or leave any patchy look after that. Of course due to its formula, it wasn't the most moisturizing lip tint you could get. But it can be fixed by using lip balm prior to application. (Time to exfoliate my dry lips too!)

One thing that I really like about this Lip Tint Caresse, it's transfer-proof! Meaning no lipstick mark on my glass of water. Yes, the color on your lips doesn't transfer or smudge. Even on my insanely dry lips, it blends on pretty well and smooth. During application, you may need to smudge and blend out the lip color using the sponge applicator to avoid patchy look. *Tips: Blending is a very important steps for all your makeup to look nicer and smoother!

Did I mention that this could be use as a cheek tint and eyeshadow as well? I was simply trying out on how it appears on my cheek. And it stays on cheek for about 6 hours with no creasing!! I didn't apply a lot on this pic because I didn't apply any foundation or bb cream today. (bared-face yo!)

This L'Oreal Paris Tint Caresse  is very suitable for light makeup look or someone who doesn't like bold lip colors. If you were a beginner to makeup, I would recommend you to try this! Definitely putting it into my makeup bag! *grin*

The L'Oreal Paris Tint Caresse is now exclusively available at Hermo.my for RM39.90 only! So head on to the website and get one of yours now!

OMG Cynthia, I'm so glad you did a review on this. I saw it in Hermo too and was so sceptical, I'm the kind of gal that likes lippies that are buttery and smooth, not so on the matte side, but I love gradient too. Might give this a go when I'm able to.

wow looks like this product is inspired from Korea cushion lips trend, just by looking at the promotional pic xD

Since the shade name is peach blossom, I thought the color will be coral but it looks pink on you.

Thanks for the review :)

Powder lipstick is something new to me. And I agree with you that some matte lipi dries out the lips. I love the packaging, L'oreal always has beautiful packaging. I have yet to look for this if this is available here.
