Review: EcoTools Bamboo 6 Piece Brush Set

I am very picky in choosing my makeup brushes. I like good quality brushes especially the synthetic ones. The touch of the brushes on your skin are very important especially when your skin are very sensitive. It makes me feel good when my brushes are gentle for my skin..Hehe XD

Sometime ago, I finally lay my hands on these EcoTools brushes. Kudos for me~ :p

EcoTools is an earth friendly set of high quality cosmetic brushes. The really soft bristles are made of cruelty free hair and the handles are made of natural & recycled materials. Say yes to the Earth!  I got myself the EcoTools Bamboo 6 Piece Brush Set from drugstore.com during their 20% sales and I gonna say that I'm loving it!!

This set comes with a Blush Brush, Eye Shading Brush, Eyeliner Brush, Lash & Brow Groomer, a Concealer Brush and a nice nylon cosmetic brush roll.

When I first got this brushes, i make an immediate checking. I lighty bounced the brush to test the strength of the bristles and even swiped it on my hand. It is AMAZINGLY SOFT with densely tapered. The feeling of softness I couldn't explain. Even by looking at the pic, it seems so soft huh?

With these I finally found my everyday-use blush brush! The EcoTools Blush Brush are the best deal I can get from this set. The blush brush is super soft and it doesn't prick my skin at all. Some my said it's kinda huge but for me it is just nice for me as most of my blusher are huge in size. The blush brush are great for powder too. This blush brush instantly become my all-in-one brush for highlighting, blusher and powder (sometimes).

The Concealer Brush works pretty well on me. I used this to dip on my NYX concealer in jar and it's perfect. It is extremely soft and does not tug at the skin on my undereye area. This works way better than my ELF concealer brush.

I'll give the Eye Shading brush a thumb ups too. Like others it is soft to use and dense enough for my eyes. I do agree that the name of the brush is shading not blending. It is good to shade and swipe your eyeshadow on your lids but it is not great enough to blend the color. Too dense I shall say.

As for the Angled Eyeliner Brush, it is good too just that I have to say it is a bit soft for an eyeliner brush. Somehow I prefer my eyeliner brush to be denser so I could grip on a more precise line. Lastly, the Lash Brow Groomer, the brush kinda prick on my skin. So I don't usually use it and I'm a person who doesn't use comb to separates my lashes. (Too lazy..)

EcoTools are made from Bamboo which are earth-friendly, therefore the bamboo brush handles are quite sturdy. Not too heavy but is just nice for a good grip. Better than those plastic handle brushes. These brushes are separated by the brush roll. The brush roll is my first ever brush roll and I find it very friendly for traveling. I usually keep my brushes in a case/pouch but they somehow looked too funny and gone out of shape after some struggle in my luggage bag.

The only thing that I mind is the clear cream color for the brush roll. Well, when I bring it out to travel it kinda stick on dust and dirt which it makes the roll dirty. :'(  As for the zip-lock recyclable plastic bag, is very useful too. I put in my powdery stuff (loose powder) in it so that when the powder accidentally fell off it was nicely placed in the bag. Good idea isn't it?

So yeah, for the low price and good quality EcoTools is a good choice if you're thinking to get good makeup brushes. It is safe for your wallet even if you don't really fond with it. But I can bet that you gonna love how SOFT it is! I'll definitely get more EcoTools brushes now~~

This 6 piece brush set is selling for S$28.90 at Watsons Sg or SHINS Malaysia. But I got this from Drugstore.com for US$12.99.

  5. The blush brush looks really fluffy!! ^^ Dont think I'll like the e/s brush though. I would prefer something fluffier, not so flat. I don't use a comb to separate my lashes either. I prefer using a spoolie as it gets between my lashes really well.
