Frizz is a common enemy whether it's for sleek straight hair or gorgeous tight curls. A bad frizz is a always a bad day for you to start off. But what is Frizz about?
FRIZZ!!
Though some are born with dry, unruly hair, that state of wiriness usually stems from dehydration and damage from chemical processing, excessive heat styling, or UV exposure.
Damage leaves the hair cuticles open when hair strands rub against each other, static builds and cause the kinks. The open cuticles can get entangled with each other too. The result
: Frizzy heads. Humidity can make situation worse. Though there is moisture in the air, damaged hair cuticles don't swell evenly-hence the flyaways.
Anti-frizz products help to coat the hair shaft with a very thin layer of silicone which smooths and seals the hair cuticles, to prevent moisture loss. Most products are good on damp or dry hair, and can be used on tandem with other styling products. I started my anti-frizz war about 7 years ago back in high school. During then I was using the pure olive oil to fight the frizz. Well, nothing beats the old traditional way isn't it?
And the result? I got a black, shiny thus a bit oily hair. I always had this thick black hair since I was born and everytime I went into salon, my hairdresser will have the same comment: "your hair is so thick and dark". Some even commented that my hair looks my like a wig. Partially, I should thanks the olive oil for the dark black hair. ^_^

Olive oil for hair |
As years grown, I find that olive oil is too oily for my hair to adapt. Thus, I seriously doesn't adores the smell. :p Then I craved in and bought Loreal Elseve Smooth Intense Leave-On Hair Conditioner. Basically I think it did nothing to my hair except my hair is kinda softer. But it was discontinued and new hair serum are launched.

These are those anti-frizz fighters I used |
Recommended by my hair stylist, I bought Shiseido Crystalling Aquafix. This is one of my favorite anti-frizz/ hair care products for years. I only use this when my hair is damp and it works wonderful for my damaged rebonded hair! But even the best anti-frizz love affair could come to an end, and so my
Pantene Hair Mask went out of the door,
Liese Hair Cocktail Serum nicely place in my shelf and lastly
Essential Damage Care Nuance Hair Essence (will review it soon) follows me everywhere I go!
Here's a little tip to share being anti-frizz:
* Always follow the rule: A little goes a long-way
* A 10-cent coin size amount of serum is good enough for short to medium length hair
* A longer or thicker hair goes about 20-cent coin size amount of product
* Rub it between palms, then smooth over dry or kinky bits
Have a awesome Sunday and enjoy reading!
